Inspection Search Fields

The following lists fields found during an inspection search. See Search Within a Numeric Range, Perform a Like Search, Perform a Wildcard Search, and Search Within a Date Range for more information on searching this work activity.

Inspection tab

  • Inspection ID(s): Enter the inspection ID(s). Separate each ID with a comma.
  • WO ID(s): Enter the work order IDs associated with the inspection. Separate each ID with a comma.
  • Insp. Type: Select the type of inspection. If the type is associated to a map layer, you can search by the map layer fields.
  • Inspected By: Select the name of the person who closed the inspection.
  • Submit To: Select the name of the individual the inspection was submitted to.
  • Status: Select the status of the inspection.
  • Is Attached: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is attached to an asset.
  • Has Work Order: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is attached to a work order.
  • Domain: Select a domain.
  • District: Select the district.
  • Shop: Select a shop.
  • Tile No.: Enter the tile number.
  • Map Page: Enter the map page.
  • Street Name: Enter the street name of where the inspection is located.
  • Prj. Start Date: Enter the projected start date.
  • Prj. Finish Date: Enter the projected finish date.
  • Act. Finish Date: Enter the actual finish date.
  • Past Due: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is past due. This searches for records that are past due based on the projected finish date.
  • Has Request: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is attached to a service request.
  • Request ID(s): Enter the service request IDs associated with the inspection. Separate each service request ID with a comma.
  • Update Map: Select Y or N to indicate if Update Map is selected on the inspection. This field can be used as a flag for whatever purpose your organization wishes. For example, it could be used for instances when the map or GIS need to be updated. The field name can be changed by editing the corresponding XML file.
  • Priority: Select the priority level of the inspection.
  • Initiated By: Select the initiator's name.
  • Closed?: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is closed.
  • Closed By: Select the name of the individual who closed the inspection.
  • Resolution: Select the final outcome of the inspection. These are defined in Designer under PreferencesInspection.
  • Rating: Enter the inspection rating.
  • Score: Enter the inspection score.
  • Cancelled?: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection is canceled.
  • Canceled By: Select the name of the individual who canceled the inspection.
  • Reason: Enter the reason the inspection was canceled.
  • Location: Enter the location of the inspection.
  • Init App: Search for service requests, work orders, or inspections that were created by an outside application.
  • Has Attachment: Select Y or N to indicate if the inspection has an attachment.
  • Facility Id: Enter the Facility Id for the building where the inspection is located. This corresponds with the facility and level IDs set up for assets in the geodatabase. Please see Add an Asset Type in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information.

  • Level Id: Enter the Level Id for the floor where the inspection is located. This corresponds with the facility and level IDs set up for assets in the geodatabase. Please see Add an Asset Type in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information.

The Entity and Feature Info section allows you to search for any inspections that are attached to particular entities, even if those inspections are also attached to another entity. For example, if you select a fire hydrant, the search returns every inspection attached to a fire hydrant, even if those work orders include another asset type, like a water main.

  • Entity Group: Select the entity group.
  • Entity Types: Enter the entity type.
  • Feature Group: Select the feature group.
  • Feature Types: Enter the feature type.

NOTE: Since features have X and Y coordinates and related objects do not, Feature Group and Feature Types can be used for related objects since the features are attached and provide a location.

The Comments section allows you to search for any comments included in an inspection.

  • Observations: Enter any observations.
  • Repairs: Enter information about repairs.
  • Recommendations: Enter any recommendations.
  • Instructions: Enter instructions for future work that may be needed.
  • Explanations: Enter any explanations needed to clarify the inspection.

The Map Layers section allows you to search any map layers associated to the inspection. Any map layers associated to the inspection template, which is determined by selecting an Inspection Type above, show in the Map Layers section. Note that at least one inspection of this type has to be created before the map layers show here.

TIP: In order to see the map layer fields in the search results, make sure to select the Map Layer Fields Visible in Search Results check box.

The Custom Inspection Observations section allows you to search by the observations included on a specific inspection type. Since these observations are defined by the administrator in Designer under InspectionsTemplate, they vary by inspection.

GIS tab

  • Entity ID(s): Select the entities to search for inspections attached to them. This field shows the entity IDs after they are manually added below.
  • Feature ID(s): Select the features to search for inspections attached to them. This field shows the feature IDs after they are manually added below.
  • Feature, Object, or Other: Select if the asset is a feature, object, or other.
  • Select a group: Select the asset group.
  • Select a type: Select the asset type.
  • Entity Ids: Enter the entity IDs separated by commas.
  • Features Ids: Enter the feature IDs separated by commas.
  • Y Min: Enter the Y minimum coordinate.
  • Y Max: Enter the Y maximum coordinate.
  • X Min: Enter the X minimum coordinate.
  • X Max: Enter the X maximum coordinate.
